Redesign the Future

UPCYCLE | REMAKE | REPURPOSE

Dutch Design Exhibition

21 october – 11 november

Albert van Abbehuis – Bilderdijklaan 19, Eindhoven

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value” (Wikipedia).

Albert van Abbehuis is proud to present Redesign the Future, an exhibition that celebrates Dutch design and innovation. This exhibition focusses on the upcycling, repurposing and remaking culture that contributes to the circular economy. The term refers to “an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life” (wrap.org.uk).

With the world’s resources being overly sourced, the creative reuse of various materials inspires a culture of rethinking, consideration and repurposing. As a cultural platform, we aim to function as a vehicle to bring these frameworks for innovation to the public. This exhibition includes designers and artists who are not shaping but reshaping the future by revolutionising the ordinary into the extraordinary. This exhibition wants to inspire its viewers. Start where you are. Help co-create abundance.

Design is inherently optimistic. That is its power ” William Macdonough.
